
Disney Dancing I (Pre-Ballet/Movement):

Fun-filled class exposing children to dance through their favorite Disney Songs. They will learn basic ballet technique, positions, terminology and movements.

Disney Dancing II (Ballet Basics/Movement):

This class is an extension of the Disney Dancing I class. The students will continue to learn basic ballet technique, terminology and movements while dancing to Disney Songs. Students will begin to connect basic ballet steps into short phrases of movement. Students will do some ballet technique briefly at the barré.

Combo I (Ballet & Jazz Basics):

Introduction to Ballet and Jazz movement. Students will learn the fundamentals of ballet positions, technique, and terminology while connecting ballet steps into combinations. They will also learn the discipline and structure of proper ballet etiquette at the barré. Students will use ballet technique to lead into basic jazz dance steps and short combinations.

Combo II (Ballet & Jazz):

This class is an extension of the Combo I class. Students will continue to improve their ballet positions, technique, and terminology, while learning across the floor and center exercises. Students will learn more challenging jazz dance steps and more complex combinations.

Ballet I:

This class is for those that are new to ballet or have had little to no technique training in the past. Focus will be on learning basic ballet terms and technique. Dancers will spend most of the time at the barré working on correct alignment, turn out, and balance, but will also be introduced to simple turns and jumps across the floor.

Ballet I/II:

This class is used to bridge the gap between Ballet I and Ballet II. This class will run like a Ballet II class, but at a slower pace. Dancers are learning more advanced terminology and choreography. Focus will be on core strength, agility and proper alignment that will be needed for Ballet II. Basic jumps, leaps, and turns will also be included in class. Prior experience in ballet is required.

Ballet II:

Emphasis will be placed on technique and extensions. Dancers will gain confidence, discipline, and strength in this level. Across the floor combinations will be more complex and students will become more comfortable in adagio movements. Prior experience necessary.

Ballet III:

Prior experience at an advanced level is required. Students in this level are encouraged to take at least two ballet classes a week. Dancers will focus on moving at a faster pace with great control. Petite allegro and quick weight changes will be emphasized in this class. Students will be expected to know most of or all ballet terminology by the end of the year.

Ballet IV:

This class will be equivalent to a Ballet IV class. Ballet III students will have the chance to work alongside Ballet IV dancers, allowing them to be challenged and encouraged by their peers. Dancers will work on fluidity and artistry in order to prepare them for the professional world. This is strictly a technique class.

Ballet V:

This class will run at a pre-professional level. Dancers in the highest level are expected to know all terminology and proper alignment. Students in this level are encouraged to take at least two ballet classes a week. This class will train dancers to be smart and move in a way that works for their personal body shape. Proficiency in barre exercises, adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro and grand allegro are required for this class. Dancers will become familiar with contemporary ballet and classical ballet variations.
