Jazz/Lyrical I:

Introduction to basic jazz and lyrical dance technique. Students will learn fundamentals then progress into more complicated combinations. Jazz dance has been around for a very long time and is heavily based on ballet technique with movements based on the beats of music. Lyrical dance is a modern dance that blends ballet and jazz technique. The dancer’s goal during lyrical movements is to convey and express emotion of a song’s lyrics through dance.

Taking the Jazz and Lyrical dance technique to the next level and learning more advanced steps and movement. This class will run at a lot faster pace that the beginning and intermediate levels. Jazz dance has been around for a very long time and is heavily based on ballet technique with movements based on the beats of music. Lyrical dance is a modern dance that blends ballet and jazz technique. The dancer’s goal during lyrical movements is to convey and express emotion of a song’s lyrics through dance.
